What's not to like about this event ... a relatively uncrowded pointbreak that pumps even on the crap days, a cinemascopic backdrop everywhere you look, nights drinking primo Stellenboch reds or Namibian beer, and where half an hour away you can come close to butting heads with a feline the size of a Volkswagen?

Kai, Kieren and Bobby used today's break to check the Lion cages of Seaview (located on the famed sand hills that make up the background of every J-Bay action shot), played with some oversized cubs, encouraged a couple of Tigers to slap each other senseless, had themselves a stare-out contest with a giant White Lion with paws the size of pizza boxes, and zapped themselves on the electric fence.
